Yesterday, I took Aidan and met up with several of his friends at Baby Boss, a sort of indoor career-themed theme park for young children. There are a couple dozen areas where children can try out all kinds of different careers ranging from soy sauce maker to video game designer to talk show host to hotel manager to archaeologist. They earn Baby Bucks for each job they perform and can trade in their hard-earned cash for toys or food at the end of the day. The boys had a lot of fun!
Baby Boss is located in the Core Pacific City Mall (also known as the Living Mall). It's a weird place--the mall is built around an 11-story granite sphere.
Amazing Race fans might recognize Core Pacific City from the last season (season 19)--the bungee jump challenge that Kaylani and Lisa completed on the Taipei leg was located here!

| If you look closely at the pic above, you can see a bunch of balloons dangling from the catwalk--that's the jumping off point. |
Aidan's favorite "job" by far was being an airline pilot for TransAsia Airlines. The kids changed into their pilot uniforms and received a short lesson on how to be a pilot. Then it was onto the plane below and off they went.

| Flight's over! |
| Three proud TransAsia pilots. (And yes, they are wearing hairnets under their captain's hats. They are all about the hygiene at Baby Boss.) |
Another fun job was learning how to be a crane operator.
| Learning hand signals from the professional crane operator. |
| Moving boxes off the dock. |
He also really loved being a Dunkin Donuts employee (mostly because they got to eat the donuts they decorated).

Looking through the windows of the Dunkin Donuts shop.
| Listening to instructions. |
| Learning the history of Dunkin Donuts so they can be informed employees. |
| Decorating their donuts. |
| Sneaking a little taste under his face mask. |
| Bagged up and ready to go! |
Aidan thought the coolest job was being a security transport guard. They learned how to safely move money from the vault to the bank and back.
| Taking the money from the vault to the security van. |
| Inside the van and ready to go! |
| Driving off to the bank. |
| The guards showing how tough they are. |
| Unloading the money at the bank. |
| Transferring the goods to the bank's vault. |
It's an interesting place to go on, especially on a rainy day, although I would avoid it on a weekend or holiday because it would quickly become crazy crowded. It's all in Chinese, so younger kids without Chinese skills mightn't find it as fun, but our kids were able to manage and enjoy the experience, even with their very basic Chinese skills. Parents should bring a book, as you spend a lot of time waiting for your child during each 30-40 minute activity. :)
