Hiatus

You may have noticed that my blogging has majorly slowed down lately. If you know what's been going on at our home, you can probably guess why!

1. Kai is with us full time now! 
This is a huge blessing and we really LOVE having him here all the time. He has made a great transition to being in our home all the time, and we've loved seeing him blossom and grow and change on a daily basis (he's become a walking, talking toddler over the past few weeks). But, of course, it means that what little free time I had during the day is (happily) booked pretty solid these days.

2. Mike's travel schedule has been super crazy lately. 
He was gone several days in September, almost half of October, and will be gone about half of November (with more travels coming up in January, February, etc.). When Mike is away, I go into survival mode caring for the three boys, and things like blogging (and exercising, and sleeping, and eating meals at normal hours...) just don't get done.

3. I have recently taken on a new writing project for our company. 
I love doing it, and am so thankful for an opportunity to write and to contribute to a project I care deeply about. But, it means that afternoon naptimes (those rare occasions when both Kai and Lucas miraculously are sleeping simultaneously!) are reserved for doing research and tapping out text.

4. Aidan is in speech therapy. 
With an in-home "therapist." Me. :) He was recently evaluated by a speech therapist who recommended daily therapy for a couple of speech issues. Since there are no native English-speaking therapists near us, the therapist in Hong Kong taught me how to do his daily articulation exercises. We're spending close to an hour a day on this, on top of violin practice, homework, dinner, etc. I'm hopeful this will be a short-term thing as it makes evenings a little more stressful, especially when Mike's gone and I'm balancing all of that with meeting Kai and Lucas's needs. It's going well so far and Aidan is really working hard at it.

I hope to be back to more frequent posting in the near future. But if you don't see me around here much, you'll know why.
